Wealthy Habitat No Advice Disclosure

Effective 29 September 2026. This disclosure is part of the Terms of Use. It is linked from the footer of every page and shown in full before an account is created.

Education, not advice

Everything on this site is general education, published for everyone and personalized for no one. It explains how things work so that you can understand a decision before you make it and ask a professional a better question. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, open, close, move, or choose anything, and nothing here is a solicitation or an offer of any security, insurance product, loan, or account. When a page walks through arithmetic with numbers you typed, it is showing what the arithmetic does; it is not telling you what to do.

Who we are not

Wealthy Habitat is a publisher of impersonal educational content, which is what the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 excludes from the definition of an investment adviser, and we rely on that exclusion. We are not registered as an investment adviser with the Securities and Exchange Commission or with any state securities regulator, and we are not a broker dealer, bank, credit union, lender, insurance agency, certified public accountant, enrolled agent, tax return preparer, or law firm. Using this site does not make you our client, patient, or principal, and no fiduciary, advisory, attorney client, or accountant client relationship is created. Business consulting is offered only under a separate signed agreement that says what it covers.

Who to ask

For taxes, a certified public accountant or an enrolled agent. For insurance, an agent licensed in your state. For a will, a trust, a contract, a dispute, or a business formation, an attorney licensed in your state. For a plan for your whole financial life, a fee only financial planner who owes you a fiduciary duty; ask any adviser in writing whether they do. Every page on this site that touches one of these subjects names the professional to ask.

About the numbers

Every rule, limit, and rate on this site is shown with its official source, the year it applies to, and the date we last checked it. Rules change, and we can be behind; before you act on a limit, a deadline, or a rate, read it on the official page we link to. Worked examples use invented figures unless you typed your own. The practice game uses real historical returns, prices, and rates to show what did happen, not what will; past performance does not predict future results, and a simulated result is not a projection for you.

About the machine

Some guides are drafted by a machine and checked by automated rules for errors, advice language, missing sources, and readability; a person reviews them, sometimes after publication. The companion, the What if door, the year end tool, and the return tool use an AI model to draft answers, and every answer is screened for advice language before you see it; one that fails is withheld. A machine can still be wrong. If an answer seems to tell you what to do, it has failed, and we want to know at the contact below.

No reliance

You agree that you use this site as education only, that decisions about your money are yours, made with a licensed professional when the decision is large, and that we are not responsible for what follows from them. The limitation of liability and warranty disclaimer in the Terms of Use apply to everything on this site, including the tools, the practice game, the research, and the AI drafted answers.
