The first car by the numbers

A car has four prices: what it costs to buy, what the loan adds, what insurance costs every month, and what gas and repairs cost over the year. The listing shows the first one. The other three are where the money goes.

A car that costs $8,000 to buy can cost $15,000 to own over four years, and nobody who sold it was lying. They were only answering the question that was asked.
